It depends on when you initiate the transfer of your number and from which network!
- Transfers from Optus or telcos that are on the Optus Mobile Network will take up to 48 hours.
- Transfers from a telco other than those included above will happen within 4 hours.
Weekdays and weekends* (times shown are in Sydney AEST/AEDT timezone)
- Initiated between 8am - 8pm on weekdays or between 10am - 6pm on weekends: Transfer will happen within 4 hours or 48 hours if you're transferring from Optus or telcos on the Optus Mobile Network.
- Initiated after 8pm on weekdays or after 6pm on weekends: Transfer will happen between 8am - 12pm the next day or 48 hours if you're transferring from Optus or telcos on the Optus Mobile Network.
* Transfers do not happen on Sundays, New Year’s, Australia Day, Good Friday, Anzac Day, or Christmas Day.
However, if your number transfer has failed.
Please note that by re-initiating the port in, the time to complete the transfer will restart. The process will start during porting operating hours. Your old SIM card should still work during this time until the transfer is complete.
