There are a few possible reasons why you are having trouble initiating your number transfer.
#1 Not receiving OTP sent to number
Don’t fret as we can manually initiate the number transfer for you. But before we do so, you must submit 2 Category A docs or 1 Category A with 2 Category B docs to us via our contact channels.
This is in compliance with the regulation created by ACMA mandating telco providers to use this verification process if we will be the one to initiate the transfer on your behalf.
Category A Docs
- Driver's License
- Local Passport - with an expiry date in the future or no more than 2 years in the past.
- Foreign Passport which contacts a valid visa issue by AU Gov
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Age card issued by AU State or Territory Government includes photo
Category B Docs
- Medicare Card
- Post-paid Telco billing record
- Student ID
- Health Care Card issued by Services Australia
- Veterans Affairs Card
- Motor Vehicle Registration
- Seniors Card
- Utility Account showing the same name and address on the order.
#2 No existing AU number
As you do not have an existing Australian phone number to receive an OTP, we will need you to provide some of your IDs/documents via our contact channels.
If you are a foreigner, please provide me the following:
- Passport photo
- Visa Papers
- Student ID or company ID
If you are an Australian Citizen, please provide the following:
2 valid IDs from the list below:
- Australian State or Territory Driver’s License
- Australian Passport
- A birth certificate issued by an Australian State or Territory government
- A foreign military ID card.
- Australian citizenship certificate issued by the Commonwealth government.
- Australian Government Issued Photo ID card (employee ID) issued by the relevant Commonwealth, State or Territory government and which includes the customer’s photo.
- Proof-of-Age card issued by an Australian State or Territory government, and which includes the customer’s photo.
Or submit 1 valid ID from above and 2 IDs from those listed below:
- Bank or financial institution card, passbook or statement issued by a bank, credit union or building society
- Medicare Card.
- Post-Paid Telecommunications Billing Record issued by an Australian telecommunications company
